For consideration of the award committee judges, projects submitted must have been designed or constructed within 2 years of the fall technical meeting. Nomination narratives should highlight the project’s key airfield electrical and lighting features with short explanations. Projects should exhibit one or more of the following principles.

  • Technically Challenging
  • Operational Benefit
  • Sustainability
  • Teamwork
  • Innovation

Judges’ rulings are final. Judges reserve the right to withhold presenting an award if all projects submitted within the category do not qualify or do not meet the judges’ expectation of the award criteria.

Projects may resubmitted for reconsideration in following award cycles provided the project has been designed or constructed within 2 years of the fall technical meeting.

JEFF PACE LIFETIME ACHEIVEMENT AWARD CRITERIA

For consideration of the award committee judges (executive committee), nominations for the distinguished service and lifetime achievement award should exhibit one or more of the following characteristics of character. This award is judged by the IESALC Executive Committee as a special recognition to the service of IESALC and the aviation lighting industry.

  • Superior Knowledge of their Discipline
  • Service to the Industry
  • Service to IESALC and Willingness to Help

Judges’ rulings are final. Judges reserve the right to withhold presenting an award if nominations do not meet the judges’ expectation of the award criteria.

Nominations may be resubmitted for reconsideration in following award cycles.

CONFERENCE PRESENTATION RULES AND AWARD CRITERIA

For consideration of the award committee judges, conference presentations will be judged on the following criteria.

  • Technical Content
  • Content Easily Understood
  • Visual Aids
  • Presentation of Content

DISQUALIFICATIONS: Presentations that do not adhere to IES continuing education non-commercial presentation guidelines will be disqualified from any Awards consideration and will not be allowed to present at future conferences. To assist with compliance, an IESALC PowerPoint template is available by request from the Vice Chair at vice-chair@iesalc.org.

  • Presentations must be purely technical with absolutely no marketing of the presenter’s company or its products. No Exceptions.
  • The presenter may only put their company logo with contact information on the first and last slide of their presentation.
  • No mention of any company or products the company has to offer to address or enhance the technology shall be made during the presentation.
  • Any representation of products or the position or action of regulatory or funding agencies must be represented in a professional manner with the intent to promote dialogue and further the industry rather than advance one product or solution over another.

If the above rules are violated and the presentation is deemed “commercial” or “marketing the company’s products”, the presenter will not be allowed to present at future conferences. Participation in future events may also be challenged.
